Brupaks malt extracts are produced for us by Muntons from the finest quality brewing grade malts using traditional brew-house procedures. We believe them to be the best in the world. Beers rivaling the best ‘mashed’ brews can be produced using our extracts. In fact they are already winning national competitions against mashers.

These extracts are exclusive to Brupaks and are not available under the Muntons label. They are available in both 1.5kg cans and 15kg jerricans.

Sugars

Although we do not usually advocate the use of sugar in brewing, an exception is made in the case of some Belgian beers where special sugars are used. A characteristic of many Belgian beers is that they are very high in alcohol but are not heavy, either in body or flavour. This is achieved by adding quite large quantities of candi sugars to the copper. Unlike refined or invert sugars, these special sugars add flavour as well as alcohol to beer and their use is essential when brewing Belgian beers. We can now offer genuine light and dark Belgian candi sugars in crystal form.


Belgian Candi Sugar

Light Crystals

Use for all pale beers especially Abbey style and ‘Tripels’.

Dark Crystals

Use for darker styles, particularly ‘Dubbels’.

Lactose

 
  Produced from milk, this sugar is totally non-fermentable which makes it ideal for styles such as sweet stout and brown ale.  
     
 
Malto-dextrin
 
  Ideal as a 'body builder' for beers that are too thin tasting. Contains non-fermentable dextrins that increase body without adding swetness.
